Adding to the Web Site continually

After many weeks in development.
We have finally finished our new web site for Morgan M Charters, we hope you like it!

COD SEASON IS HERE DECEMBER 2011

THE WEATHER HAS NOT BEEN KIND LATELY BUT WHEN WE HAVE GOT OUT IN DECEMBER. THE TRIPS HAVE PRODUCED SOME GOOD SIZE COD TO NEARLY 20LBS ILL PUT UP SOME PIC SHORTLY AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OUR CUSTOMERS

Cod are starting to show in reasonable numbers with up to 30 codling a day and the odd 8-9lb fish being caught, this will be better in the next week or so as temperatures drop so get your trip booked now to avoid disappointment!

We've had an excellent Bass Year!

We have seen some of the best Bass fishing ever this year, so book your bass trip now for next April onwards.

April has been good to us with the weather and the fishing, the skate fishing has been fast and furious at times with up to 50 skate a day. Smooth hounds have started to turn up not big but in the 2 to 4lbs bracket we had 10 in one day hope this is a good sign as the fish are early this year. We are also catching a few bass up to 4lbs good signs for a bumper year .

t he cod fishing is getting better every day catching between 30 to 40 fish a day in the 2 to 5lbs mark with the odd double. skate are starting to arrive in numbers with up to 20 skate a day up to 14lbs i can only see this getting better over the next few weeks so book now for a grate days fishing we have a few week end dates left for april and may tight lines

.it has been a long cold winter most of the trips in Jan and Feb were canceled by me. Lack of fish, to much snow and fresh water and millions of sprats the shoals have started to brake up now and the fishing is picking up. The last few trips we have managed lots of whiting some nice one's to over 2lbs, skate to 10lbs and a few nice codling between 2 to 5lbs. In the next few days the remaining shoals of sprats will go and i am shore the fishing will improve dramatically with a good spring run of codling and some bigger ones, we were having some nice size cod right up to Christmas in the 14 to 18lbs mark lets hope some of them return .

Mackerel have just started to show, meaning we are catching good sized tope to 45lb and nice skate to 16lb, many smooth hounds are also being captured the biggest this month going 14lb but we know bigger are out there waiting. Some trips have been really busy with over 100 fish of mixed species including Tope, Smooth Hounds, Skate and Bass fishing really well at the moment

last tope trip we managed to get enough mackerel to head off shore to the tope grounds, baits out and in 20 minutes we had our first hook up. This ended up being the biggest tope of the day weighing in at 49lbs! We put the feathers out and managed to catch 40 small mackerel live baits which we kept in the new live bait tank which was fitted last week. With this we put 4 rods out with live baits WOW what a difference live baits make! we ended up with 6 tope that day between 35 and 49lbs 4 of which were caught on live baits. We had quite a few pick ups from bass which were being lost after a few seconds of hooking them so we decided to change from a single hook to a treble which we nicked just on top of the mackerels head, this seemed to work, getting 2 big bass to the surface one was well over 15lbs. With me telling them to make sure there clutches were set right, which they said they had done ( obviously not) resulted in both lines being snapped! gutted or what! These big bass have more power than given credit for. Lesson learnt.

aug has been very good with lots of of skate from 10lbs to 16lbs bass to double figures and Smooth-Hounds to 20lbs with many in the 12 to 16lbs bracket not long to the cod arrive so book now as the dates are going quick especially week ends
